A state agency, the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), reportedly is investigating a complaint about sanitation and patient distancing precautions at McLaren Macomb hospital in Mt. Clemens.
Since the start of the pandemic, MIOSHA has investigated nine different complaints about McLaren Macomb, Heather Catallo reports at WXYZ.
She speaks confidentially with emergency room nurses alleging that Covid-19 patients are not being isolated, potentially exposing other patients and staff.
They also say you can regularly see stacks of soiled linens, overflowing garbage, and they allege the waiting room at the McLaren Macomb emergency room is rarely cleaned. . ....

McLaren Macomb expands services, opens inpatient rehabilitation unit
18-bed unit for people recovering from brain injury, stroke or surgery

McLaren Macomb hospital has opened an 18-bed rehabilitation unit in Mount Clemens.
McLaren Macomb, a 288-bed hospital in Mount Clemens, has opened a new 18-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit for patients recovering from stroke, traumatic injury or other conditions where they undergo specialized physical therapy.
Construction of the new $12 million unit began in the summer of 2020 and was completed in early February.
Even though they have advanced into their initial recovery, many patients, due to the severity of their illness or injury, or for other factors, are not yet at the point where they can yet be discharged home, said Dr. Michelle Bradley, a physiatrist, in a statement. ....
