Two members of the editorial and production team behind the country s longest running magazine are currently riding high in the Irish download charts after releasing a festive single which strikes the perfect tone for Christmas 2020. Ireland s Own Assistant Editor, Shea Tomkins, wrote the song, titled Next Christmas With You , and is accompanied on the recording by Production Editor, Toddy Walsh, on piano, and by his four-year-old daughter, Daisy Tomkins, who introduces the song. Shea told this newspaper the inspiration for the song came from stories told to them from their interaction with older people through the magazine. Working in Ireland s Own we have a lot of contact with older people and we have heard some poignant stories about people who will be lonely because they won t get to see their loved ones this Christmas, said Shea. ....
