WILLIAMSBURG â University of the Cumberlands celebrated Arbor Day this year by planting trees on land that was recently converted from barren surface-mined land into cross-ripped future forestlands.
Cumberlands purchased the land â 102 acres located off State Route 92 â several years ago. With the addition of the 50 new trees planted by Cumberlands staff and students to celebrate Arbor Day, approximately 74,250 trees have been hand-planted on the land.
