The taliban fighters were making inroads in kabul, that they were close to taking control of the city. they have claimed to take control of kandahar. but we have not circumstantial evidence confirmation from the government and there has been pushback from security forces in afghanistan as to whether or not kandahar had completely fallen. the same holds true for herat. again, another huge city in afghanistan. think back one week ago. the taliban, yes, they were in control of a lot of rural areas and smaller villages. they were making inroads there, but they did not control a single provincial capital a week ago today. they took the first from vince shl capital on friday, a week ago tomorrow, and last friday, and then swiftly moved across the north taking kunduz and ....
