County mayor: ‘Comfortable’ with schools budget, June vote likely
County Mayor Bob Rial told the commission Monday that the county’s 2021-2022 fiscal year budget will likely be ready to present by early June. 
Rial said Schools Director Dr. Danny Weeks will present the school district’s preliminary $70.16 million budget May 3 to county commissioners. 
We have looked over (the schools budget), and we are very comfortable with it at this point,” Rial said. We don t really see that as being an issue.  
Also on May 3, Rial said his office will also present the county government budget for next fiscal year.  ....

That vote took place during the council’s monthly meeting. 
The council approved a resolution to authorize the mayor to sign and execute all required documents for an application to the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s State Industrial Access program to improve .4 of a mile of Two Mile Road located inside the city limits. 
Mayor Don Weiss Jr. said the SIA funds would be used to improve the road to accommodate the anticipated increase in traffic that could result from the construction of a fuel storage facility by Titan Partners LLC.  ....

Dickson terminal: County OKs lawsuit settlement with developer Titan

Opponents of the fuel terminal proposed for Dickson County rallied Thursday night at the county courthouse in Charlotte as the county planning commission voted on the terminal site plan inside.
Dickson County reached a settlement Tuesday with Titan Partners, the company planning a large fuel terminal near Interstate 40, about four months after the company filed lawsuits to proceed with the $60 million project. 
The Dickson County Commission voted 9-1 to settle the lawsuits. Commissioner Johnnie Reed voted no and Commissioner Linda Hayes abstained. 
It s going to cause a lot of hard feelings,” said Commissioner Cotton Dawson. “And I hope when we vote to do the right thing, it doesn’t make people mad at you so bad it s completely out of reason.   ....
