Farmers best placed to identify on-farm habitats, expert says 26 February 2021 | Welsh government should ask farmers to complete their own environmental plans, a poll suggests Farmers are best placed to identify important on-farm habitats and historical features that will form part of future environmental support schemes, according to an expert. Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) Cymru director Dr Glenda Thomas said most farmers were very good at habitat identification. She said most farmers also had a good knowledge of where important flora and fauna were located on-farm. “I think they are the best people for identifying habitats on their farm, certainly historical features also, she said during a recent Farming Connect webinar. ....
