Pressured the british very heavily in 1942 to give up india and granted so that they would join the fight against the nazis and the japanese. Churchill, singlehandedly resisted. The rest the rest of the government was ready to do this. But churchill was not. He threatened to resign if fdr kept pressing him. So they backed up. All be there are few things as democrats we should all be proud of from this convention. One is that the senator Sanders Campaign came together with the Hillary Clinton campaign. [applause] without the very spirited and engaging debate that we had ending gauge primary that be have those issues would not be the forefront of the National Debate and thats very important that they are and that we were able to produce that platform. Second is that another core strength of the Democratic Party and American Values is that we care about our children and we dont ever give up and that is what you are going to hear about Hillary Clinton tonight. Her life that started working with the childrens defense defense fund and the core value of the Democratic Party and one the best things about america too. I think we should all be proud that tonight we will elect our first woman to be the nominee of a Major Political party.
