Timber Truckers parade in John Day brings Christmas spirit | News

For more than three decades, the Timber Trucker’s Light Parade has illuminated Main Street John Day to the delight of scores of residents with a dazzling display of lights and holiday cheer.

The 33rd annual Timber Trucker’s Light Parade was held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9 with 24 parade entries from local timber and logging companies, government agencies, emergency services, local merchants and an entry from a resident, officials said.

The parade, a Grant County Christmas season tradition since 1991, began at the Iron Triangle Yard (the former Gran Western mill) off Patterson Bridge Road near Sinclair gas station on West Main Street, rolled east through downtown and then left on the Third Avenue extension where it turned south on Dayton Street toward the Elks Lodge. ....

Local rigs big and small, decorated for the Christmas season, will be alight in downtown John Day for the 33rd annual Timber Trucker’s Light Parade at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec, 9.

An annual Grant County tradition since 1991, the parade will start at the Iron Triangle Yard (the former Gran Western mill) off Patterson Bridge Road near Sinclair gas station on West Main Street, and will proceed east to the lighted intersection through East Main and left on the Third Avenue extension where it makes turns south on Dayton Avenue toward the Elks Lodge. ....
