For more than three decades, the Timber Trucker’s Light Parade has illuminated Main Street John Day to the delight of scores of residents with a dazzling display of lights and holiday cheer.
The 33rd annual Timber Trucker’s Light Parade was held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9 with 24 parade entries from local timber and logging companies, government agencies, emergency services, local merchants and an entry from a resident, officials said.
The parade, a Grant County Christmas season tradition since 1991, began at the Iron Triangle Yard (the former Gran Western mill) off Patterson Bridge Road near Sinclair gas station on West Main Street, rolled east through downtown and then left on the Third Avenue extension where it turned south on Dayton Street toward the Elks Lodge. ....
