So, there is a need for Affordable Housing for families, students, seniors and everyone. Therefore, thats why we worked diligently with our allies and you supervisors to ensure that we have a cap to really see and analyze that this is a need. And we really appreciate you hearing our concerns and we look forward to working with the planning staff to actually look over those analysis. Thank you again and we hope to that you support this legislation. Thank you. I dont have any other cards. So, if anyone after mr. Cohen is interested in speaking, you can just go ahead and line up. Good afternoon, supervisors. Tim cohen on behalf of the Housing Action coalition. Id like to support the proposed legislation for new housing product efficiency dwelling units with one important exception. Isolation purposes in response to our working with the nighttime entertainment people back in 2005. We actually had three meetings and actually kind of revised the plan numerous times to fit their goals. I think now it would be acceptable to them. At least acceptable to one of the club owners. I havent talked to the others specifically. But there would be 24 units. You talked about [speaker not understood]. Do you know the exact number . If you give me a minute, ive got the plans with me. Thats all right. Okay. Its roughly theres more studios than one bedrooms in the twobedroom town houses. The two bedrooms are all at the back. Thank you. Sure. So, on that, too, i think this is a unique situation. We talk about grandfathering pipeline projects. But it seems like its a last you know, kind of a last minute change of the zoning that wasnt necessarily contemplated. So, i would be supportive of some kind of grandfathering carve out, whatever we want to call it for that project on 11th stree ....
Still need to have some transparency about that. Yeah. I agree, commissioner, that i think it is a discussion we should have. I personally would like to get a tour of the facilities that are out there and any other commissioner that wants to familiarize himself with it. Because it seems that we have a permanent place on this agenda that its talked about. Whether we like it or not. So maybe we can like it a little more. I actually dont know where they are. I would like to yeah, we okay. And in fact, we did when i first came on as commissioner we did do a tour of the facilities. It was laid out what was going to go where, what was going to be done, some resources. Possible resources there were. Then it just then it was just dropped. This was some time ago. I think it would be good to have other commissioners go on the tour and, you know, kind of get brought up to date on whats happened with that project. Okay. Is there any Public Commen ....
Thank sarah short and also gail gilman from Community Housing partnership who wasnt here today who were very, very deeply involved in the negotiations and were really good negotiating partners in trying to work out this compromise. I also want to again thank president chiu who was also very supportive and helpful in helping all of us move to this process. I just had a couple final points. First of all, you know, i think we all a lot of people have it in our heads we would love for everyone to live in a singlefamily home or some really big spacious flat. And unfortunately thats not the reality of 2012 San Francisco. Very few people who are not fortunate enough to have bought or rented a large place a long time ago can afford to do that. Its just not an economic reality in San Francisco and we need to be housing everyone, ....
