Brownwood City Council members approved two recommended appointments to leadership positions during their regularly held Council meeting on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Brownwood City Manager Emily Crawford presented her recommendations for appointing Marshal McIntosh as Deputy City Manager and Roland Soto as Parks and Recreation Director to the Council. “With the retirements of Tim Airheart and Tommy Bell, there has been a ripple effect in multiple departments,” Crawford explained to Council. “We are fortunate to have qualified individuals who are ready and able to step-up into higher positions.” Crawford recommended Marshal McIntosh be appointed to the newly created Deputy City Manager position. The Deputy City Manager position is designed to be a project-based position that takes on city-wide initiatives and works with all departments. Henry Wied named Brownwood s Director of Public Works Special to the Bulletin Henry Wied, who has been the City of Brownwood s Director of Utilities for five years, has been named the division s Director of Public Works. Brownwood City Council members approved Wied s appointment Tuesday. Wied was recently named the interim Director of Parks following the retirement of David Withers. The announcement of Wied as Director of Public Works follows the recent retirement of Assistant City Manager Tim Airheart after 30 years of service. “Tim Airheart left big shoes to fill. . Nowowiejski won a specially called election on May 1 over Linda Heitman to fill the unexpired term of Larry Mathis, who is moving to Georgetown. Once Nowowiejski received the oath of office, she took Mathis’ place on the dais. Tuesday was also the final city council meeting for outgoing Brownwood Assistant Manager Tim Airheart, who is retiring after spending 30 years as an employee of the City. ....
