London, KY, USA / SAM 103.9 FM WWEL | Today s Pop Hits Apr 21, 2021 10:23 AM Laurel County Sheriff John Root says K-9 Deputy Jake Miller and other detectives and deputies were sent to a home on Tuttle Road near London to check on a woman. When police arrived at the scene, they spotted the man, later identified as 38-year-old Steve Wagers of London, running from the home and into a nearby field. Deputy Miller dispatched K-9 Maverick to chase and detain Wagers until police could take him into custody. During the struggle, officials say Wagers kicked Maverick in the head and tried to disarm one of the deputies trying to arrest him. When police investigated the home, they found drugs and drug paraphernalia and 29-year-old Tiffany Hoskins of London hiding in a locked room. Hoskins was wanted on outstanding warrants. Wagers is charged with fleeing or evading police, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, attempting to disarm a police officer, disorderly conduct, ....
