Keri Hilson is projected to have a busy year, but it doesn’t include releasing new music. The two-time Grammy nominee is preparing for the release of several film projects, and if that surprises you, you’re not alone.
“It took even me by surprise,” said the singer-turned-actor. “I always dreamt of leading a film never thought that I ever actually would or even feel capable of doing so.”

Keri Hilson stars in the upcoming Lifetime movie “Lust: A Seven Deadly Sins Story.” The movie explores the power of lust through Hilson’s character, Tiffanie Cooper, whose world turns upside down when she is about to have the wedding of her dreams to her soul mate Damon King (Tobias Truvillion) but gets distracted by her fiancé’s old friend and best man Trey Taylor (Durrell “Tank” Babbs).
Hilson, a two-time Grammy nominee who hit the R&B music scene in the late 2000s with her hit songs “Pretty Girl Rock,” “Turn Me On,” and ”Knock You Down,” says playing the character of Cooper wasn’t as hard as one would think. “It was a lot of fun for me,” Hilson revealed. “I got to do a lot of kissing and a lot of lying in bed with two beautiful men,” Hilson said jokingly. “The most difficult part was the emotional aspect of it [understanding] the depth of Tiffanie’s feelings.”

The renowned faith leader,
New York Times bestselling author, and business mogul has reunited with the Lifetime network to produce two new films that each explore two of the seven deadly sins: lust and envy. The first film, titled
Lust: A Seven Deadly Sins Story, stars singer and songwriter Keri Hilson, who plays Tiffanie Cooper, a church girl who is just days away from marrying her soul mate in the luxurious wedding when her fiance’s old friend, Trey Taylor, played by Durrell ‘Tank’ Babbs, arrives fresh from prison and rocks her world. Jakes says the message behind the film is a warning about the detriment of lust in relationships.
