Security, though, republicans are now trying with medicare. they are trying to get rid of it through privatization. what i mean by that is this. the whole point of medicare is that it s a guarantee. you don t have to be in the private insurance market. instead, you are in a public thing called medicare. that is for everyone. private tiesing it is killing it. that was the subject of some of the most blunt rhetoric in president obama s big speech yesterday. instead of guaranteed health care, you will get a voucher. and if that voucher isn t worth enough to buy the insurance that s available in the open marketplace, well, tough luck. you re on your own. put simply, it ends medicare as we know it. it ends it. it privatizes it. trades it in for discount coupons instead. i will not allow medicare to become a voucher program that leaves seniors at the mercy of the insurance industry. my feeling about this medicare proposal from the house ....
