German experts say floods more common as climate change worsens

German experts are urging a reassessment of flood protection strategies as the situation in parts of the country remained critical on Wednesday. Germany continued to battle serious floods on Tuesday as forecasts for near constant rain until later in the week worried officials. Fields in several regions of the northern state of Lower Saxony resembled lakes while there were floods on the Elbe river. Flood risk remains high in parts of Germany, town evacuated

The German Weather Service (DWD) continues to warn against the risk of flooding in parts of Germany due to persistent rainfall in several regions.
