Artwork was a therapy for me in prison but for you it may be something else. We all have a gift..
Years in current role:13
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Working side by side with my heroes in our sociallyaccepted occupation and vocation of standing with David against the government Goliath which, fortuitously, is a perfect fit for our predispositions and passions. As Martin Luther said, “Here I stand, I can do no other.” My mother always thought I’d be involved in the criminal justice system, just not this way. This worked out better.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve dealt with over the past year?
We’re a litigation firm that, fish out of water-like, hasn’t had a trial in the past year, hasn’t been able to conduct hearings or investigations and hasn’t been able to move cases forward at all. In some cases, our clients sit in custody while their cases are not moving forward. So frustration and focus have been challenges.
