SUMMARY
The Battle of Five Forks, on April 1, 1865, was the last major battle of the Petersburg Campaign during the American Civil War (1861–1865). By defeating Confederate infantry under George E. Pickett and cavalry under William H. F. “Rooney” Lee, Fitzhugh Lee, and Thomas L. Rosser, Union general Philip H. Sheridan was able to flank the Confederate lines at Petersburg. The action allowed the Union Army of the Potomac, after nearly ten months of siege, to break through Confederate general Robert E. Lee‘s lines and, by April 2, claim Petersburg and the Confederate capital at Richmond. When it was through, Union troops were positioned along the major transportations routes south, forcing evacuating Confederate troops to travel west during the Appomattox Campaign. Their attempt to unite with the Confederate army of Joseph E. Johnston was foiled, however, and Lee surrendered the Army of Norther ....

Octopus Renewables and RES sign three year spares contract

Octopus Renewables has signed a three-year spares management contract with RES as it continues to grow its solar portfolio in the UK.
The agreement will see RES supply inverter spares, requiring it to own over 1000 compatible spare parts and deliver these on-demand. This will improve the availability of parts and develop commercial advantage for Octopus’s 640MW portfolio.
RES recently opened an operations and maintenance (O&M) site in Exeter to support this agreement along with other recent growth.
Brian Darnell, head of solar and storage O&M at RES, said the company was “thrilled” to be offer Octopus “a unique multi-vendor spares management service” as well as the delivery guarantee for its UK solar sites. ....

RES, Octopus ink solar spares pact


RES and Octopus Renewables have signed a three-year management contract that will see the former supply inverter spares for the clean energy investor’s solar assets in the UK.
The agreement requires RES to own over 1000 spare parts that are compatible with Octopus Renewables’ inverter fleet and deliver these on-demand within a guaranteed time period.
The kit will provide availability improvement and commercial advantage for 640MW of assets.
To support this and other recent growth, RES opened an operations and maintenance site in Exeter earlier this year. The new 2000 square foot facility enables enhanced spare parts management for all RES’ clients as well as office facilities for the team locally, the company said. ....
