Peter goals is former managing directer of the national transportation safety board. we just got this word from randy babbitt, the administrator of the faa, he says the faa is investigating the incident at reagan airport. while that is taking place, we have suspended the air traffic controller from all operational duties. and he goes on to say that he s determined to get to the bottom of this situation for the safety of the traveling public. appropriate, would you say, an appropriate response from the faa? i would say it s appropriate. it s a little overdue. i think i would have put him on suspension first thing this morning. it really is unacceptable behavior. jon: i m a private pilot, i ve flown at uncontrolled airports. airports, for instance, like white plains which is pretty busy during the day, but they shut down the tower at 11:00, and there have been, i ve followed jetblue jets and so forth in after 11:00. they turn the run lights on, they announce where they are. ....
