Cudmore: Tragedy at the bus stop | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS A graduate of Amsterdam’s Vrooman Avenue Elementary School, Nancy Booth was in ninth grade when she died. Her mother had died in 1942 when Nancy was about seven.  Her father lived in Miami Beach, Florida.  Nancy had a sister, Louise Booth, who was one year older.  Nancy was being raised by her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. George Tetradis, at 62 Edward St. on Reid Hill.  Her grandmother, also named Nancy Booth, lived in Amsterdam.  Shortly after 8 a.m. on Nov. 29, 1949, a cold light rain was falling on Amsterdam’s Guy Park Avenue.  The street was slippery as students arrived for class at the former Theodore Roosevelt Junior High School.

June 1958 Photo of Randy, Scott, Betty and Fred Seaver Post 669 of (Not So) Wordless Wednesday    I can t help it, I can t do a wordless post! This is one of my favorite colorized photographs: This photograph was taken in June 1958 on the occasion of my graduation from Theodore Roosevelt Junior High School.  It was taken in the patio (our ping pong center, whiffle ball field,  and basketball court) near 2114 Fern Street in San Diego.  We lived at 2119 30th Street, the upper floor of the house in the background. Pictured here are, from the left:   Betty Virginia (Carringer) Seaver (1919-2002), my mother, looking spiffy in her white suit and hat.
