LTFRB eyes immediate release of PUV fare hike resolution

Razon) MANILA - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is expecting to release its resolution on the requested fare hike on public utility vehicles (PUV) soon. In a statement on Tuesday, LTFRB Chair Cheloy Garafil said the agency is awaiting the position paper of public utility jeepney (PUJ) operator groups. The deadline for the position paper is on Saturday. "Hinihintay ng ahensya ang position paper ng PUJ groups upang masimulan nang mapagdesisyunan ang kanilang petisyon (The agency is just waiting for the position paper of the PUJ groups so we can begin making a decision on their petition)," Garafil said. The groups are seeking a PHP5 to a PHP6 fare hike. To date, Garafil said the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) has submitted a position paper on the matter to the LTFRB. Netphen (dpa/lnw) - Sechs Personen sind am Mittwochabend bei einer Kollision zweier Fahrzeuge auf der L729 bei Netphen (Kreis Siegen-Wittgenstein) verletzt worden - eine von ihnen schwer. Wie ein Sprecher der Kreispolizeibehörde Siegen-Wittgenstein mitteilte, geriet eine 32-jährige Frau, die mit ihrem 36-jährigen Mann und ihren drei Kindern im Alter zwischen 4 und 6 Jahren unterwegs war, aus bislang ungeklärter Ursache mit ihrem Pkw in den Gegenverkehr. Dort krachte ihr Wagen mit dem Auto einer 61-Jährigen zusammen. Sie wurde bei dem Unfall schwer verletzt. Ihr 55-jähriger Beifahrer sowie alle Insassen des anderen Unfallwagens, bis auf den Mann, wurden bei dem Unfall ebenfalls verletzt und in umliegende Krankenhäuser gebracht. ....
