One young Howard County author is saving lives across the world. She’s doing it through her own fundraiser, bringing awareness to the need for clean and safe access to water.Julia Barnes, 9, is the author of Willa’s Adventures. “It’s about a 7-year-old girl named Willa. She’s on top of the waterfall. It’s about how she becomes a magical water princess,” Julia said.She drew the idea from her own imagination and from a lesson learned as a Girl Scout. “In Africa, there’s water, but there’s not fresh water, so that’s why we people in the USA, in a water-rich country, want to build wells and, like, get some tubes and get that water all the way over to Africa on the other side of the planet,” Julia said.With a little help from mom and dad, Willa’s Adventures is available on Amazon.
