In a statement Friday, PRO-13 Director, Brig. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr. said the 12 MBs turned themselves in at the Carmen Municipal Police Station in Carmen town. Google map of Sison, Surigao del Norte BUTUAN CITY - The Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 (Caraga) has condemned Tuesday the communist New People's Army (NPA) for attacking government troopers who were involved in the delivery of services in Surigao del Norte. In a statement, PRO-13 Director Brig. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr. said personnel from Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (SDNPPO), the troopers from the 30th Infantry Battalion and the local government unit of Sison were conducting "Barangayanihan" in Barangay Iman when they were attacked by the NPA rebels at 4 p.m. Monday. An armed encounter immediately ensued that resulted in the wounding of an Army personnel. The NPA rebels immediately withdrew after the five-minute clash.
