We are checking in with musicians during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic to see how they are dealing with everything. What has their home quarantine experience been like so far and how is the crisis impacting both their career and art?
COVID-19 may have put paid to most of 2020’s live music events, but one of the surprise hits of the lockdown has been Tim Burgess, frontman of The Charlatans, and his Twitter listening parties.
At the start of this year The Charlatans and Ride teamed up for some co-headlining North American tour dates and next January they are doing it again. As with the previous tour, Britpop and Madchester survivors The Charlatans will be performing their 1992-released sophomore album, "Between 10th and 11th," and shoegazing icons Ride will perform their 1990-released debut album, "Nowhere."
Despite 30 years in the game with The Charlatans and as a solo artist, Tim Burgess’ sense of wonder and enthusiasm for making and discovering new music remains undiminished.
