Council plan revealed for results of community survey


But a Sunshine Coast Council spokeswoman said the survey would assist with implementing and monitoring the council’s environment and liveability strategy and the community strategy.
“The Living in Place survey is an independent and robust community survey/social research project used to provide a measure of liveability,” the spokeswoman said.
It was developed by population and demographic specialists Informed Decisions.
The spokeswoman said the survey complemented a communication satisfaction survey completed last year.
“It will build on the information captured in relation to the satisfaction and utilisation of council services and provide an understanding of the values our community places on where they live, what is important to them and what works well in their neighbourhoods from a liveability perspective,” the spokeswoman said. ....

Community group fears number fudging on feedback


In a flyer published by the Department, it collected neutral and positive feedback to the stage 6, 1.2km stretch from Alexandra Headland to Maroochydore.
In the summary of feedback the Department noted 55 per cent of feedback had been neutral or positive about the preferred design, despite a graph in the flyer showing a breakdown of the figures.

Of the 1159 pieces of project feedback only 260 were positive, while 375 were neutral and 524 were negative.
The feedback categorised as neutral included inquiries and general suggestions that did not demonstrate opposition to the project, a Department of Transport and Main Roads spokesman said. ....
