June 29, 2021 BEIJING: There is a exciting report of transformation from excavator driver to tech-savvy master that led to CPEC role model, according to China Economic Net (CEN). “I was very lucky to meet Mr Sun, a Chinese engineer who helped build Pakistan in the 1990s. He taught me a lot of things, such as mechanical maintenance and Chinese,” Manzoor Ali recalled his fond memories in 1993 when he first met Mr Sun. This also marked the beginning of his close bonds with China. The CEN’s report says, twenty-eight years later, Manzoor has grown into an excellent mechanic engineer and works for China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) at the open-pit coal mine project in Block 2 of Thar Coalfield, Pakistan. ....

KARACHI: The Sindh cabinet in its around five-hour-long sitting on Tuesday approved the Water Act, devolution of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) to divisional level, ratified Pak Army requirement in support of civil administration, upgraded posts of town officers from BS-11 to BS-16 and approved Rs1 million compensation to the heirs of the government employees who had died of Covid-19. The cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah here at CM House. The local government department presented the Sindh Water Act to establish the Sindh Water Resource Commission to be headed by the chief minister while the chief secretary would be its vice chairman.
