2020年2月，华为在德克萨斯州的两个美国地区法院起诉Verizon，指控该公司未经授权在光传输网络专利技术和视频通信等领域使用了华为的十几项专利，并要求支付未具体说明数额的赔偿和版税，知情人士表示，华为索赔金额或超过10亿美元。而Verizon称这些诉讼“只不过是公关噱头”和“对我们公司和整个科技生态系统的偷袭”，并对华为提起反诉。
