State officials say behavioral health privacy protections prohibit them from saying whether or not a Sequim man has been civilly committed after being accused of murdering his mother and attempting to kill a police officer last year.
After nearly six months of evaluation at Western State Hospital, Bret Allen Kenney, 35, was deemed incompetent by state medical professionals and unable to stand trial for the murder of his mother and attempting to kill a Sequim police officer.
A Sequim man facing charges for allegedly killing his mother and attempting to kill a Sequim Police officer last May will remain in Western State Hospital for continued “competency restoration” until he can possibly stand trial.
