Daily Post Nigeria Published Following the recent killings of about 12 soldiers in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State by local militias, the State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Monday said four suspects have been arrested and more arms have also been recovered. Ortom who briefed journalists on Monday after an expanded Security Council meeting with stakeholders from Konshisha Local Government Area, said the military during the search operation recovered one AK-47. He stated that efforts of the Security Council, traditional rulers led by Tor Jechira, Chief Clement Uganden and Ter Ikyor, Chief Jam Gbinde as well as political leaders also led to the recovery of eight AK-47 rifles and one machine gun. ....
Daily Post Nigeria Published Two persons were confirmed dead while one other sustained various degrees of injuries in a road crash that occurred on Monday on the Ijebu Ode-Benin expressway. Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, Spokesperson, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta that the accident involved a Toyota Sienna car and a truck. Akinbiyi explained that the accident which occurred at 11:15 am was caused by the driver of the Sienna car who was on top speed. He said the driver of the car lost control and hit the loaded stationary truck. He said a male teenager and a woman who were in the Toyota Sienna marked MUS 264 XV died in the accident while one other person sustained injuries. ....

The clash which left 6 persons dead and several others sustaining varied degrees of gun and machetes injuries happened between the night of Saturday and the early hours of Sunday, ASP Sunday Abutu, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, who confirmed the additional arrests to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Monday, said those newly arrested made the total number of suspects so far in the command’s custody to rise to 45. ....
Daily Post Nigeria Published The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed the death of three staff in a road accident in Borno. Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, in a statement said the deceased staff members died on Sunday. He quoted Mohammed Ibrahim, State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) as saying an Electoral Officer (EO) and some Assistant Electoral Officers (AEOs) were involved. The victims were travelling from some Local Government Areas to Maiduguri for special training ahead of the conversion of Voting Points into Polling Units. Adamu Mohammed (EO, Biu LGA), Abubakar Joda and Suleiman Umar (AEOs, Damboa LGA) died while five others sustained injuries. ....
