LIFE-SAVING equipment has been installed following a campaign by residents. Louise Spikings, from Witham, approached the Templars Community Association after seeing a feature about a defibrillator on TV. The association then secured £1,000 funding from the Eastlight Residents Group South and £750 from Braintree Council to buy the life-saving equipment, which has been installed in Shaw Road. Louise, the association’s acting secretary, said: “I am so pleased Eastlight and the council were able to support something that could save lives on our estate and surrounding area. “Thank you to the engineer who installed it for free, and to Ali Baba’s takeaway, who have it fixed to their outside wall and fund the electrical running costs.” ....
