Commuters groan over Lagos-Ibadan Expressway gridlock on New Year’s Day

Many commuters heading for their various destinations on Thursday evening were stuck in traffic snarls on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, spending hours into the New Year on the busy road.
The gridlock, caused by a fallen truck in the Ibafo end of the expressway, stretched to Warewa inwards Lagos and started from Kara Bridge outwards Lagos.
A number of workers shuttling the expressway passed the night in their offices as a result of the gridlock while many commuters in commercial vehicles disembarked and resorted to trekking or taking motorcycles at night. ....
