doing important things always does. melanie, i hope you weren t up all night following these twists and turns. getting this bill out of the senate, they ran into some head winds and rocks along the shore in the name of senator kyrsten sinema. how did it play out? as chuck schumer put it, it was a bump on the road. there was some drama before this bill got to the finish line. senator kyrsten sinema was concerned about the 15% corporate minimum tax, impacting small businesses. so she joined in on a republican amendment to address that issue. but it also included an extension of the state and local tax deduction. schumer was told some democrats would not vote for the final bill if those changes were in there. so behind the scenes, democrats were scrambling to come one a solution to prevent this deal from falling apart. they came up with letting sinema support that amendment and added in a different way to pay for the changes. that is the reality of a 50-50 senate. they n ....
