They alleged that the State government has been playing with their lives by not filling the posts for the last three years even after conducting the exam. The protest was held under the aegis of Telangana Unemployed Joint Action Committee led by N. Venkatesh.

The guest lecturers were not being paid any remuneration although the online classes had begun in September last itself. As the colleges were set to re-open from February 1, the guest lecturers were a worried lot as they have neither received renewal orders nor the remuneration for the last several months.

A protest was held at Indira Park here on Thursday decrying the recent announcement by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao that the government would increase the retirement age of the employees soon, as promised before the last Assembly elections. Several backward classes associations and Communist Party of India (CPI) expressed solidarity with the protest.
