KATHMANDU, Dec 26: Teknath Rijal, Bhutanese refugee leader currently in jail in connection with the fake Bhutanese refugee scam, is set to be released on bail after the Patan High Court granted him bail.
KATHMANDU, Dec 1: The Patan High Court has issued an order for the remand in custody of eight individuals, including former minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, in connection with the fake Bhutanese refugee case. The joint bench comprising Judges Janak Pandey and Prakash Kharel upheld the Kathmandu District Court's decision to imprison Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Indrajit Rai, Keshab Dulal, and Angtawa Sherpa.
A total of 15 people out of 16 who are currently in judicial custody in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam, including former deputy prime minister Top Bahadur Rayemajhi and former home minister Bal Krishna Khand, have appealed to Patan High Court seeking release from jail until final verdict.
