Opening of Mughal Road: DM Poonch Elaborates Arrangements, Covid-19 Testing To Be Done En Route

SRINAGAR: District Magistrate Poonch has elaborated arrangements regarding restoration of historic Mughal Road – connecting Poonch and Shopian districts of south Kashmir – exclusively to fruit-laden trucks and movement of Gujjar-Bakerwals.
In an order, the District Magistrate Inder Jeet stated that subsequent to the Government’s decision regarding opening of Mughal Road and in exercise of powers vested in him under Sec. 34 of Disaster Management Act 2005 and other Acts/Rules in vogue, the arrangements ordered with immediate effect include that the road be allowed for the movement of permitted category only that is fruit laden trucks having valid permission from respective District Magistrate of originating district and for seasonal nomads with herds. ....
