According to the prosecution lawyer Amit Patel, the state has primarily opposed on the ground that prima facie sufficient evidence has been brought on record to indicate Sreekumar being part of the conspiracy to allegedly implicate and involve high-ranking officials of the state in the 2002 riots, including the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
A sessions court in Ahmedabad is likely to pass its order on Friday on the bail applications of activist Teesta Setalvad and former DGP R B Sreekuamr arrested for allegedly fabricating documents to frame innocent people in the 2002 riots cases.
