Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], May 6 (ANI/NewsVoir): Chitkara University recently conducted the grand finale of the India Innovation Challenge - 2021 - one of the largest funding fest and university-driven platforms for upcoming start-ups.
With a mission to promote novel and practical innovations, India Innovation Championship witnessed record participation by teams from across the nation and abroad.
The championship is open to innovators, entrepreneurs, designers, thinkers, students, engineers, scientists, coders, trainers, academicians from any background. The championship is open to innovators, entrepreneurs, designers, thinkers, students, engineers, scientists, coders, trainers, academicians from any background. Since its launch in October 2020, the ‘India Innovation Challenge – 2021’ received a record 460 applications from the progressive sectors ranging from fin-tech, agri-tech, ed-tech, waste management solutions to the health sector. Only 23 start-ups qualified for the stringent screening and were allowed to ‘Pitch and Present’ their ideas to a panel of 10. ....

SKUAST-K bags EU project for urban green infrastructure

Adding another feather to its cap, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Kashmir has bagged a prestigious European Union (EU) Project, ‘URGENT’, for the promotion of urban green infrastructure and climate-friendly liveable cities.
The project has been granted to the SKUAST-K’s Faculty of Forestry under the European Union’s Erasmus education programme on ‘Urban Resilience and Adaptation through Nature-based Solutions’ as a project partner.
‘URGENT’ is yet another such prestigious project received by the university. Earlier in 2019, the university got a Rs 30-crore grant under National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) jointly funded by the World Bank and Indian Council of Agricultural Research for the institutional development of the SKUAST-K. ....
