Vandine: Frontline medical workers to go down in history

PHNOM PENH, Jan 18 (Phnom Penh Post/ANN): Prime Minister Hun Sen said China would offer Cambodia an immediate donation of one million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine produced by the Sinopharm company.
In an audio message addressing the public on the night of Jan 15, he said Cambodia has accepted the offer and will use them on the 500,000 people on the priority list for vaccination.
Hun Sen made a U-turn from his announcement in December when he said Cambodia would only use vaccines certified as safe and effective by the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) COVAX initiative. ....

3K new nurses to help fight Covid-19

Prime Minister Hun Sen has allowed the Ministry of Health to recruit 3,000 nurses and include them in the state employment framework in 2021 to strengthen the Kingdom’s fight against Covid-19.
Hun Sen confirmed this on December 29 during his national address to announce the end of the November 28 community event – a reference to the first confirmed case of Covid-19 local transmission.
He said the decision was made after a discussion with health minister Mam Bun Heng about the number of nurses needed during a recent phone call, when Bun Heng said the ministry needed up to 5,000. ....
