Flaco Jimenez, Eva Ybarra and Los 2 G’s are among the musicians who will be playing in this year’s Tejano Conjunto Festival.
The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center’s celebration, which was canceled last year because of the pandemic, returns this year as a livestreamed rather than an in-person event.
“We love our fans and seeing all our old friends in the conjunto community at Rosedale (Park), but since we can’t be in person we are happy to share puro conjunto with everyone around the world in this livestream,” Cristina Ballí, director of the Guadalupe, said in a statement. ....

NHCC Hosts Virtual Performance Of ‘Conjunto Blues’ April 29

ALBUQUERQUE The National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) will host an online performance of “Conjunto Blues”, the Albuquerque premiere of this critically-acclaimed one-person show written and performed by playwright, actor, and musician Nicolás R. Valdez and directed by Joel C. Settles, at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 29.
Following the performance, Valdez will host a question-and-answer session, during which audience members can discuss the show and ask questions about conjunto music in general.

List of south London groups receiving culture recovery funds

£11 million of funding has been issued to more than 100 organisations across south London to help provide financial support amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Government’s Culture Recovery Fund was set up in the midst of the pandemic to help support theatres, galleries, performance groups, arts organisations and local venues to reopen and recover.
2,700 cultural and creative organisations are to receive a share of more than £400 million in grants and loans across the country, as part of a financial boost from the £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund.
This includes more than £300 million, which has been awarded in grants through Arts Council England, Historic England, National Lottery Heritage Fund and the British Film Institute. ....
