This is cnn newsroom. Hello to our viewers in the United States and around the world. We will begin with new developments in the search for the missing Malaysian Airliner. Chinas state run news agency is reporting that the crew of a chinese plane searching for flight 370 has spotted suspicious objects in the southern indian ocean. A reporter says the chinese search team saw two relatively big floating objects with many white smaller ones scattered within a radius of several kilometers. Well have a live report on those objects in just a moment. But we also have another development, which we are following this hour. That based on a single malaysian Law Enforcement source by usa today stands in stark contrast to cnns own reporting that theres no evidence the pilot is to blame. Youll also hear some of the captains staunchest defenders including his son. There is a lot to cover tonight starting with kyung lah in western australia. Whats the latest . Its now been 14 days since the plane vanished and adding to the urgency, the dying batteries on the flight recorders. Just over 15 days from now the pings designed to help search crews locate them will start fading away. This morning crews were back out in the air and on the water scouring the remote area of the indian ocean for the object spotted on satellite images, unfortunately, they found nothing today. It is nighttime in australia now and theyre done searching from the air for the day. Cnns Andrew Stevens is in perth, australia, the hub of the crew. Andrew, the weather was good today. We were hoping
China plans to send out ships to try to find this new object. In the meantime, the search for those other two pieces of or these other objects, i should say, goes on. Were talking about six planes scouring the area for a third day today. No traces were found, however. They came back, at least a kouchl couple of the planes, and found nothing significant.
