There are teams year in, year out that aren’t the favorites, they won’t be picked to win their conferences and they’ll be overlooked in the preseason All-Conference lists. But other teams will flat-out not want to play them, because on any given day, they can sneak up on anybody.
While putting together the “Every Team in One Sentence” project, plus starting on preseason All-Conference lists, All-Americans and national rankings, these teams stood out. They likely won’t get the preseason shine they deserve, but don’t be surprised if they knock off someone or make a run at their conferences.
