Education Briefs: Hope Summer Repertory Theatre gets new education director Sentinel Staff HOLLAND Hope Summer Repertory Theatre is welcoming a new member to its leadership team this summer. Laura Matthews will join as director of education. Matthews has been a teaching artist, actor and director in Chicago since 2012, working with theaters and schools such as Porchlight Music Theatre, Emerald City Theatre, Elmhurst College, Roosevelt University and American Theatre Company. During the academic year, Laura is the visiting professor of theatre at Blackburn College. She holds an MFA in pedagogy and performance from Virginia Commonwealth University and bachelor’s degree in musical theatre and interdisciplinary communication studies from Elmhurst college. She is currently training and studying to be an intimacy choreographer. ....
