Oakland all day, where the cleanup continues and where there was a new protest today with a decidedly different tone than the one last night. Reporter we are here in frank ogawa plaza, ground zero for last nights protest and also todays protest, focused on the message, not the mayhem. This afternoon, about 100 or so people showed up in front of city hall, using art to voice their opposition to police violence. Were making this with flowers and we have the names of individuals who have been killed by police. Reporter surrounding the plaza, dozens of Oakland Police officers watching the demonstration. Were here to facilitate that and make sure no outsiders come in, disrupt their message or freedom of speech. Reporter organizers say they dont want the message to be lost when outside influences come into oakland and destroy property. Your rage in our community under the banner of black lives is not okay.
