A 25-year-old Boonville man is facing a couple of felony charges after an incident was reported on November 20.
According to a report from a Cooper County Sheriff’s deputy, a resident came home and allegedly observed Tavon Coleman carrying firearms out of his residence. The alleged victim said after Coleman saw him, Coleman placed the rifle he was carrying into the trunk of a car and then got in the passenger’s seat. The driver then drove away at a high rate of speed.
The resident followed the vehicle north on Highway 179 and then east on I-70. The vehicle came to a stop at about the 111-112 mile marker, and the resident witnessed Coleman exit the vehicle and run south from the interstate into the woods. A search was conducted, but Coleman was not located.
