Tata group companies have come together to pool in Rs2,000 as they raise resources for a no-holds-barred war against the Covid-19 pandemic, reports in the Times Group newspapers said citing Tata Group sources.
Tata Trusts chairman Ratan Tata has taken the lead in the war against the pandemic even as the country’s healthcare infrastructure has been stretched thin limits by the second and devastating wave of the disease.
Tata group companies are currently engaged in setting up Covid critical care infrastructure, including thousands of hospital beds, arranging oxygen and training healthcare staff, according to the reports.
IHCL converts 11 hotels across India into paid quarantine facilities
DUBAI, 5 hours, 29 minutes ago The Indian Company Limited (IHCL), part of the Tata Group, continues to stand by the Indian community in the fight against the pandemic, establishing quarantine facilities in collaboration with Partner Hospitals at select Taj, Vivanta and Ginger branded hotels across the country. A total of 11 hotels are involved, with a total room count of over 5,000 in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Mumbai and Pantnagar. Available for asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic Covid-19 patients, these rooms are offered at the sole discretion of the partner hospital, who provide an on-site doctor and nurse to monitor vital parameters.

Our people in Tata Steel identified that the bottleneck is in transportation. We need special cryogenic containers. India doesnt have it. So, one just has to find then outside and get them airlifted.
