Uttarakhand flash floods: 36 bodies recovered, CM approves relocation of families

Authorities have recovered the bodies of 36 people who were presumed dead in Uttarakhand where flash floods devastated the Chamoli district on Sunday. Efforts are still underway to rescue nearly 30 workers trapped inside the Tapovan Tunnel.
On Thursday, the bodies of two other missing people were recovered from the banks of the Alaknanda river. District Magistrate Swati S Bhadoria confirmed that the bodies of 36 out of the 206 people missing since the flash floods have been recovered. Search operations are still underway to locate the remaining 168 people, she added.
