13 die of Covid-19 in Kushtia in 24 hours, infection rate 31.69% Star Digital Report Star Digital Report Thirteen Covid-19 deaths were recorded in Kushtia in the last 24 hours till this morning. Six others suffering from Covid-like symptoms died at the Kushtia General Hospital during the same period till 8:00 am, our local correspondent reports. All the patients died while undergoing treatment, said Resident Medical Officer Taposh Kumar Sarker. So far 265 people have been admitted to the Covid unit of the hospital, and 2,228 people remain in home isolation, the physician said. Meanwhile, 193 more were diagnosed with Covid-19 in the district in 24 hours till this morning, Kushtia s Civil Surgeon Dr Anwarul Islam confirmed. In total, 609 samples were tested during the period. The infection rate has reached 31.69 percent, he added. ....
He said, the five who died due to Covid-19 were receiving treatment under Kushtia district health department. Covid-dedicated Kushtia General Hospital s Resident Medical Officer Taposh Kumar Sarker said, in total 164 patients have been admitted to the hospital s Covid-19 unit till 9:00am today.
