And everyone here on this panel and many of you in the audience are involved in efforts that precisely do not assume that slavery is some sort of addition or addon to the president ial histories but, rather, that the two are connected. Im jennifer morgan, im a professor of history at new york university, where i work on colonial History Office enslaved people. Im very excited to be part of this afternoons conversation.
