Funds from last year’s federal infrastructure legislation will help clean up dangerous chemicals in the Hockanum River, among other sites in Connecticut, officials said Tuesday.
Sections of the river flowing through Ellington, Vernon, Manchester and East Hartford are included in the consumption advisory, according to Sen. Anwar.
A warning has been issued for people catching fish in Vernon’s Hockanum River because of elevated levels of per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS)..
