Data from the Department of Women s Empowerment, Child Protection and Community Empowerment (DP3APM) in Tanjungpinang City noted that at least 35 couples chose to marry at an early age, ranging in age from 14 to 18 years. 
The data was recorded between January and August 2020. 
Meanwhile, from January to December 2019, there were only 30 couples who married at an early age.
