Bobbitt will serve as the Agency’s next Executive Director. Bobbitt, currently the Artistic Director of the New Repertory Theatre in Watertown, MA, will officially join the Agency on February 1, 2021, thereby becoming the most senior cultural official in the Commonwealth. “The Council’s search for our next Executive Director truly left no stone unturned,” said Nina Fialkow, Chair, Mass Cultural Council. “We are delighted Michael will join us in February and are eager to begin this new period together. I am confident the Agency will continue to lead and serve the Massachusetts cultural sector impactfully under his direction.” ....

Michael Bobbitt, a director, choreographer and playwright who came to the New Repertory Theatre in Watertown in 2019 after 12 years serving as artistic director at Maryland s Adventure Theatre-MTC, will succeed longtime executive director Anita Walker, who retired in June. ....
Pickens Virtual Academy Director, Anita Walker presented an update on virtual learning. The board of Education meeting in Pickens County on December 10th presented data gathered from a report on November 20th in an open forum. The information provided was in regards to students who are on track and not on track in their classes. The data focused on the progress of students. The assessment was based upon 3 out of 4 core courses for students k-8. High School students were assessed based upon the progress of 4 courses successfully completed because they receive 1 credit per course. Director Walker decided to focus on 6-8 grade students who were not on track. She looked at each course the individual student was on track in and found out how many hours was spent on that class. The criteria for virtual students was to spend 1 hour per course per day to successfully complete their courses. Director Walker expressed taking personal calls and keeping a log of parental ....
Bob barnett, bob crane and anita walker. i can t remember where i read thr or heard this but someone was basically arguing the last time around it was difficult because the president is not one of these guys that takes criticism very well. is he listening to a larger group of folks? is he being more receptive to suggestions? well, i think he s going to have to be. if you ve talked with people who worked with past sitting presidents they say that is the greatest challenge when you re preparing for something like this because the person is, in fact, president, not used to getting a lot of criticism. in this case we know that president obama watched that videotape of the debate and he wasn t happy with what he saw. so he will certainly need to be open to criticism. also i m sure a number of people ....
