Yousuf Rasheed, FEFA Head and Activist, Killed by Gunmen December 24,2020
KABUL - Yousuf Rasheed, CEO of the Free and Fair Election Forum of Afghanistan (FEFA), was killed by unknown gunmen in Kabul city on Wednesday morning, his brother confirmed. The incident happened around 8:30am local time in the Tani Koot area in PD7 of Kabul city while he was on his way to the office and gunmen started shooting at his vehicle, Abdul Baqi Rasheed, his brother said. His driver was also wounded in the shooting and both were transferred to the Emergency hospital, but Yousuf Rasheed died, his brother said.
Noor Warns Action if Security Does Not Improve
Atta Mohammad Noor, the CEO of the Jamiat-e-Islami party, speaking at a gathering in Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province, on Thursday addressed government leaders: If you are not able to improve the security situation of the country, then let us take action.
Noor urged President Ghani to not arm the murderers of the people of Afghanistan because the outcome will not be good,” without giving details. If the government does not pay attention to areas lacking security, then we must take action and we don t care if they call them militia. Noor said.
Rasheeds’s Family Calls on Intl Community to Probe Murder
The family of Yousuf Rasheed, CEO of the Free and Fair Election Forum of Afghanistan (FEFA), who was killed in Kabul by unknown gunmen on Wednesday, has called on the international community and human rights defending organizations to help probe the attack on him and ensure that justice is served on the perpetrators.
Rasheed’s friends and family members have said that they cannot trust the government of Afghanistan to probe his assassination.
Rasheed’s brother said that he worked tirelessly for the rights of the people and democracy in Afghanistan and democratic values.

Sami, Rasheed s driver, also died later at the hospital from wounds sustained in the attack, Sami s relatives confirmed.
Afghani democracy activist gunned down
Kabul, Dec 23(UNI) Prominent democracy activist Yousuf Rasheed was gunned on Wednesday morning by unknown gunmen in Kabul.
Rasheed, a well known civil society figure was the CEO of Free and Fair Election Forum of Afghanistan (FEFA).
As per the statement given by Rasheed s brother Abdul Baqi Rasheed the assassination took place around 8:30am local time in the Tani Koot area in PD7 of Kabul city when he was on his way to the office and gunmen started shooting at his vehicle.
Rasheed s driver was also wounded in the shooting and both were taken to a nearby hospital, but Yousuf Rasheed passed away before reaching the hospital.
